Lafuma’s outdoor furniture is a true symbol of the "Made in France" concept. Manufactured in Anneyron (Drôme) for more than 60 years, it has derived from their excellent knowledge. The raw materials used are duly chosen for their strength, durability and the extent to which they are environmentally friendly. The furniture range was created from Lafuma’s "canvas + tubing" knowledge and experience. The brand, which created the first metal-framed backpack, used this expertise to meet the needs of campers. It launched its first designs at the beginning of the 1950s and co-founded the Spoga sport and camping trade show in Germany.
The Relax was created in 1961, the Pop Up in 1992. They quickly became two key sellers for the brand. They have evolved with the latest trends and their success has continued.
For more than 60 years, the village of Anneyron (Drôme) has been the home for the design, manufacture and assembly of their outdoor furniture. The plastic parts are made by the Lallemand company at its site in Le Vieu d’Izenave (Ain). The historic site naturally plays its part in sustainability: electricity is produced by 1500m2 of solar panels and the paint booths meet the strictest standards. In 2014 Lafuma Mobilier also obtained the label “Origine France Garantie“ (“Guaranteed Made in France”) in recognition of its industrial commitment and as a guarantee of the quality of its products.
Lafuma encourages local hiring and mainly employs local associates in the region. The brand has also forged strong links with its suppliers. Their geographic proximity helps with replacements and allows for quick turnaround times.
Lafuma can count on true expertise and excellence with its 60 years of "canvas + tubing" knowledge. Many innovations have been created through this including the well-known clip attachment system or the technical "three layer" Air Comfort® seat pad. Most of the outdoor leisure chairs are subject to a patent, as they incorporate original mechanical devices which offer, for example, a sophisticated movement or a revolutionary suspension system. Over the past 20 years, the brand has filed a dozen patents for outdoor furniture.

For 20 years, the share of export sales has greatly increased, in particular to Germany and the Benelux countries, to reach more than 50% of the brand's turnover today, and this development is now accelerating notably in the United States and Asia.
